The views when you get here are stupendous: a panorama that reaches to the Leaning Tower and to the Mediterranean on the horizon. Sitting on the southern slopes of the Monti Pisani are a group of farm cottages, immaculately restored, served by spring water and powered by solar panels.

The farmhouses stand side by side (ideal for friends), with living spaces on the ground floor, bedrooms up, and a big wide stone terrace at the front with curtained-off pergolas and a shared wood-fired oven. There’s a terraced olive grove with pathways to wander – or for naps in the shade – and a split level decked and fenced salt water pool with an outdoor shower and those grand views.

All you hear are the birds and the wind. The farmhouses are comfortable, spotless, family-friendly and furnished in traditional style, with working fireplaces for the odd cool or rainy day. Stroll to a restaurant at the bottom of the hill or drive six minutes to a good food shop for stocking up.

The natural spring water salt swimming pool is set in a truly amazing location with views to infinity over valley field Pisa and Med. The pool zone also boasts a unique shower which pours out water from the trunk of an ancient olive tree - simply fabulous.
Our own organic olive oil for sale - unbeatably good ! on your very own home made pizzas using an original wood fired pizza oven. Try our allotment for toms, peppers,salad and herbs to create your perfect pizza. Peaches, pears, figs and cherries in season.
From right outside your door enjoy some of the best walking trails imaginable. Truly great walking on hand, offering views over Pisa, Lucca, The Mediterranean. Enjoy walking through wonderful chestnut stands, pine forest and olive groves - inspiring!
We have a fully soundproofed and freely available recording studio in a separate building on site and guests are welcome to use the instruments and have some fun!
Great activities for all ! Bespoke Tuscan cookery classes on site - rafting on nearby rivers, cycling trails - bike hire from nearby Lucca, great beaches - wonderful snorkelling not far away, fishing, Lucca wine tours, Fabulous music festivals all summer

"This place is a little slice of heaven! From the moment my family arrived we were taken in by the beautiful surroundings. Luisa and Colin were the perfect hosts. As soon as we stepped out of the car they were there to greet us and made us all feel so welcome. You just got the feeling that nothing would be too much trouble. The views are absolutely amazing and the pool area was great. We loved cooking on the wood stove and eating on the terrace, while staring at the views of Pisa and the coast behind it. The accommodation was lovely and the kitchen well stocked. Hope to return one day......"

"La Lucertola is a truly special place to stay - the house is situated among ancient terraced olive groves with plenty of areas to sit and relax in the shade of olive trees or in the sunshine on the terrace by the pool. Inside, the beautifully decorated house was extremely comfortable and we woke each morning to the fragrance of jasmine blossom. We enjoyed many evenings watching the fireflies from the patio, and experimenting with the woodfired pizza oven. There are lovely walks through the olive groves directly from the house. Our 5 yr old particularly enjoyed the Parco di Pinocchio (30 mins)"

"The farmhouse is situated high on the hillside which then allows spectacular views over to Pisa and the Med. Colin and Luisa were informative and gave us some good suggestions on places to visit. The farmhouse is comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. If you don't fancy cooking the local deli is excellent and there are good restaurants in the area. Try the Pizza oven if you feel adventurous. The outdoor patio is ideal for sitting out on warm evening and makes very enjoyable experience. "First let me say that Luisa and Colin were wonderful host. The property is a little hard to get to, but it is very nice and has a wonderful view. The outside area is great for dining or for cocktails after a day of activities. It is nicely located between Pisa and Lucca and only about 50 minutes from Florence on the autostrade.  I would and will definitely recommend this place to my friends and family. Paul "

"Bellissimo!  We stayed in house no 1 & were delighted with our choice. Beautifully nestled on a hillside, amazing views across the countryside & leaning tower of Pisa in the distance.   House spotlessly clean-home from home plenty big enough for our 5. Challenging drive up mountain but well worth it! Relaxed under the pergola, sunbathing or by the pool. Wifi 5*-coped easily with iPads,iPhones and laptop! Easy reach of Lucca/Pisa/Florence by train or car. A magical stay with excellent hosts-there to help but not intrusive. Exceptional value and highly recommended-you will not be disappointed!"

"We rented the house for our first vacation in Tuscany. The house was exactly what we had expected - from the owners' description as well as the reviews. The drive up was a little nerve breaking, but it totally worth it once you get on top of the hill. The view is to die for - absolutely amazing! Luisa and Colin are very friendly hosts. We felt absolute privacy while staying at the guest house. The house was very clean and well equipped. We had everything we needed. It is about 20 min drive from the Tower in Pisa, 20 min drive to the center of Lucca and 30 min from the beach. We loved it!"
