A deeply rural spot for this sparkling white cortijo with a central courtyard. The hub of the house is the high-ceilinged, open-plan living area with a kitchen at one end, a library at the other and very comfortable seating in between. Colours are warm, there are many good books and a happy mix of furniture and art will make you feel relaxed – there's no standing on ceremony here.
Five colour-themed bedrooms (four can be twins) are stonkingly comfortable with hefty mattresses, soft cushions and lovely views. Bathrooms are en suite with powerful showers (one also has a bath) and even the loos are open-plan so you'll need to lack inhibitions.
Wake to scrumptious breakfasts: home-baked grain bread, homemade jams, pancakes and eggs from their chickens, bacon from the local butcher. Set off on wonderful walks or cycles, doze by the pool or head to the yoga platform, enjoy a Reiki session in the gypsy wagon or simply relish the quiet.
