Nothing but birdsong and a local dog or two will disturb your peace. Wend your way up to this old granite cattle shed, perched on top of a hill with long valley views and crack open your bottle of wine from Magdalena’s vineyard. She has cleverly revived both spaces which are next door to each other and have vaulted ceilings– one an upside down space with big windows framing lovely views and a sofa bed should you want to enlarge your party, the other has a little balcony and a wood-burner, and single beds that can be arranged in different ways depending on the guests. There’s a town nearby for supplies and you’re just 10 km from Portugal. Visit hot springs, go wine tasting, Santiago de Compostela is a 90-minute drive. Magdalena (energetic, well-travelled, excellent English) will happily organise stuff for you to do.

- Walk the 18 km (or 33 km if you prefer the longer circular track), or just any of the short paths, of the Sendeiro das Fragas e Levadas dos ríos Calvo e Deva. Moss, woods, old mills...
- Torgo is the name of the winery where our delicious organic albariño wines are produced. Walk up to the winery, learn how we work and taste a couple of vintages as you enjoy the spectacular views in the dog friendly vineyard where it comes from.
- River beaches such as Luneda, San Xoan or Maceira are fantastic options fo have a dip in the summer. Superb Atlantic beaches are certainly not to be missed either, just an hour drive.
- Relax in any of the nearby natural hot springs and spas, especially during autumn and winter cool days. Don't miss Termas de Outariz and Prexigueiro, Mondariz Balneario or Portuguese Melgaço and Monção spa baths. All less than half an hour from A Pampla.
- The Miño river is our natural border with Portugal. just 15 minutes from here. Enjoy the Vinho Verde region wines, explore the nothernmost part of the fabulous Peneda-Gerês National Park, go rafting or drive along the picturesque old EN202 road.
- Not only countryside: one hour and a half to Santiago de Compostela, an hour or less to Pontevedra, Combarro, Vigo, Baiona, Tui, Ponte de Lima (Portugal), Valença (Portugal), Allariz, Ourense. Even closer Ribadavia, or Portuguese Monção and Melgaço.
