In a glorious setting surrounded by rocky mountains and circling vultures, down a tarmacked road find two charming cottages with cosy, rustic interiors and an apartment. Wood-burning stoves keep you warm on cool evenings and you can barbecue on your private terrace when it's balmy. A delightful inner courtyard filled with shrubs and flowers has cushioned benches for sitting quietly with a book or just enjoying the peace. Laze by the pool by day, or night - perfect for stargazing.
Landscaped gardens lead down to the horses: June and Clive, your kind, easy-going English hosts run an ethical horse rescue and riding centre. They can lead you on sure-footed, gentle horses through open fields, cool pine forests, olive groves and streams with gorgeous views. They also run courses on ethical horsemanship.
Non-riders can walk, climb, drink from mountain springs or just nod off in the shade. You'll feel relaxed and happy in the atmosphere here.
