Feel right at home in this Victorian cottage by the sea with an open fire, family photographs, art old and new, piles of good books

The first floor sitting room has its original windows and balcony overlooking the sea. Choose a book and sit in the sunshine or light the fire and huddle in. The rooms are over three floors so you'll never feel on top of one another and there's masses of space for six. The downstairs kitchen is friendly, with a big wooden table, a red range-style cooker and a welcome hamper for your first breakfast along with a few treats.

Borrow crab lines, buckets and spades or kayaks from the Inn (you can have all your meals here too - even breakfast) and launch yourself onto the pebble beach below, or lounge in your own large garden, light up the fire pit and grill something delicious, play games on the smooth lawn, gaze at the sea. One bedroom is downstairs, two are on the top floor, all have lovely views and thick, lined curtains.

You'll wake to birdsong from the woods behind you and the waves lapping below, no road noise.

Queen Victoria visited the Babbacombe Bay twice. Once in 1846 when she did not land and again in 1852. This time the queen was taken close to the shore in a rowing boat so that she could admire and sketch the scenery.
During the day, Babbacombe's sun-trapped beaches are the main attraction. Water sparkles like sapphire and you can lose yourself in the surroundings of the unique Coral Coast. Babbacombe Cliff railway is available to take you up and down from the beaches.
The world’s most famous crime writer, Agatha Christie, was born in Torquay in 1890. 1938 she bought Greenway, a beautiful house overlooking River Dart at Galmpton near Brixham, a short drive away. Every year we take part in a festival celebrating her life.
Outdoor sports are a must! Coastal walks, horse riding, scuba diving, sailing, fishing, kayaking, tennis, golf, swimming etc. We are surrounded by a selection of great activities hosted throughout several little bays around Torbay.
Look out for 'Sammy' our resident seal. Often seen by the pier point or lazing in the sun on the Babbacombe rocks. Friendly and fun he plays with all the divers, swimmers and fisherman.
