A gorgeous wooden-clad off-grid cottage deep in the National Park with far-reaching views, unfussy interiors and spoiling extra treatments

You're surrounded by glorious nature: grasslands, moors and heather-covered hills are yours to stride, woodlands are filled with bird life, you'll spot lively red squirrels and hear many sheep; it's grand up here. Your uncluttered, calming sitting room has a cosy wood-burner, books, DVDS and games for settling in on foul weather days, the sleek kitchen has all the kit you need and you'll find a welcome basket of local goodies and sparkling wine.

The spacious bedroom has a king-size bed (or twins) and sliding glass doors to a patio with probably the best views in the UK. Drink your morning tea while gazing at the Cheviot Hills and plan your day. Walks from the door are sublime, and you can ask for massages, holistic treatments and much more but you also have your own Shanti room with a freestanding brass tub.

You're in a Dark Sky area so make the most of any clear nights by ordering a stargazing kit and setting up on the patio.

  • Visit Craigside House! A wonderful day out for the whole family and doggies too. Building camps in the woods, nature trails, kayaking, and canoeing on the lake. Beautiful gardens and house full of local history and inventions. Our favorite place to go!
  • For Harry Potter fans! Alnwick Castle is a fantastic day out for all the family. Learn about the history of Alnwick and enjoy the beautiful award-winning gardens created by The Duchess of Northumberland. Activities, concerts and magical fun!
  • Barter Books is one of the biggest second-hand bookstores in the country. Great for rainy days. Preserved beautifully, it is located in the old Alnwick Train Station. Sit, read, and relax with a cuppa in restored waiting rooms with open fires. Dogs welco
  • Holy Island and the Farne Islands are a great day out. Spot seals and puffins as you travel by boat. Visit the home of Grace Darling, Longstone Light House, and find out how her amazing courage inspired the first lifeboats to patrol our shores.
  • Alnmouth Beach is the start of amazing castle walks and the beach itself is stunning and the local’s favorite.. The Village has amazing coffee shops and dog friendly pubs. Visit the School House Gallery for famous local art work and cultural events.
  • The Star Inn in Harbottle is loved by guests for its warm welcome and is at the heart of the community. You can dine in or pick up a takeaway on your way back to the cottage. It's dog friendly too so you can take them with you.
