Immersed in nature, high in the magnificent Cheviot Hills, this wooden-clad off-grid cottage has sleek, modern interiors and grand views

You're in the National Park with the darkest skies, the most fabulous walks and all sorts of extras that can be conjured up: massages, reflexology, holistic healing specialising in women's health, a wonderful Dark Sky package. The calming sitting room and the bedrooms have sliding glass doors onto a patio with mesmerising views – lovely to sit up in bed with a cup of tea and watch the ever-changing skies, twittering birds and curious red squirrels.

A wood-burner and underfloor heating keep you balmy, the swish kitchen is geared up for cooks and the shower room leads to an enclosed Shanti bathing area with a free-standing brass tub. You'll find a fulsome basket of tasty local goodies along with some breakfast stuff in case you forget.

On warmer days leave the glass doors open for a blast of sunshine, and as evening falls light the barbecue and prepare to be amazed by the stars – so many!

  • Visit Craigside House! A wonderful day out for the whole family and doggies too. Building camps in the woods, nature trails, kayaking and canoeing on the lake. Beautiful gardens and house full of local history and inventions. Our favorite place to go!
  • For Harry Potter fans! Alnwick Castle is a fantastic day out for all the family. Learn about the history of Alnwick and enjoy the beautiful award-winning gardens created by The Duchess of Northumberland. Activities, concerts, and magical fun!
  • Barter Books is one of the biggest second-hand bookstores in the country. Great for rainy days. Preserved beautifully, it is located in the old Alnwick Train Station. Sit, read, and relax with a cuppa in restored waiting rooms with open fires. Dogs welco
  • Holy Island and the Farne Islands are a great day out. Spot seals and puffins as you travel by boat. Visit the home of Grace Darling, Longstone Light House and find out how her amazing courage inspired the first lifeboats to patrol our shores.
  • Alnmouth Beach is the start of amazing castle walks and the beach itself is stunning and the local’s favourite. The Village has amazing coffee shops and dog friendly pubs. Visit the School House Gallery for famous local artwork and cultural events.
  • The Star Inn in Harbottle is loved by guests for its warm welcome and is at the heart of the community. You can dine in or pick up a takeaway on your way back to the cottage. It's dog friendly too so you can take them with you.
