A sleek, light-filled, beautifully designed, minimalist space for 4 with wrap-around views from the living room and pool

An adventurous approach over gorse-covered moorland to a narrow lane and Balbinny Farm, on whose land Lethnot stands. It's designed to resemble a pictish broch and built from stones saved from the old steading, but has a grass roof, curved walls and is glass-fronted to take in the views. There's a 'next door' broch too, but you're not overlooking each other. Walk in to a good sized hall then an open-plan living room with wooden floors, comfortable chairs with sheepskin throws and a large tweedy sofa - but best of all, wrap-around views. The kitchen is sleek and grey and incredibly well thought-out, the dining table has modern chairs which provide a snatch of colour, sliding oak doors cleverly, stylishly, maximise space. Bedrooms are view-filled and simple with upcycled headboards and dressing tables, clever lighting, plain linen curtains; underfloor heated bathrooms will dazzle you with kit. There are floating bean bags for the pool, a tennis court in the garden (maybe a distant hum from the A90), treatments if you want them, walks galore, fishing in the South Esk or a visit to Glamis Castle.
