A London Brownie hut was shipped up to house the village schoolteacher during the 1940s, then used as a salmon smokery until Louisa transformed it into a holiday home. Down higgledy-piggledy steps from the roadside and into a large porch/utility room, big enough to store bikes in safely, then a kitchen with space for two to cook happily and all the gear you need.
The dining/sitting room has an original beam, a big table and benches, games, books, an open fire with logs and a drinks sideboard. A very comfortable place to be on a chilly day or, in summer, with the french doors open to the loggia overlooking the water. Paintings and prints are by the owner and she also leaves you something freshly baked.
The garden is uncultivated, budding botanists will find rare orchids alongside poppies, cornflowers and fruit bushes. Oyster catchers nest nearby, this is a beautiful nature-filled space for lovers and dreamers.
