One of four wooden-clad off-grid cottages, sleek and calm indoors, high up in the Cheviot Hills and with stunning views over the valley

Your cottage is 1400 feet above the floor of the Upper Coquet valley and, once you're here, you'll be reluctant to leave. Sliding glass doors from the living room and bedrooms mean you can constantly look at beauty, or wildlife – red squirrels are bountiful here and ponds are teeming with newts and dragonflies. Cooks will be pleased with the shining granite surfaces for prepping, gas hob, large fridge and plenty of kit.

Both bedrooms are spacious and airy with king-size beds which can be twins and views over the hills. Lovely to walk out onto your patio area with a cup of tea in the early morning and breathe in the fresh air, listen to birds and the wind in the trees and feel far from any bustle. Head to the outdoor covered Shanti bathing area or the Holistic Healing Cabin to unwind.

This is a Dark Sky Area so on clear nights you'll be rewarded and you can hire a stargazing kit to make the most of it.

Punti d'interesse locali da
Terri & Matthew Stock:

  • Visit Craigside House! A wonderful day out for the whole family and doggies too. Building camps in the woods, nature trails, kayaking and canoeing on the lake. Beautiful gardens and house full of local history and inventions. Our favorite place to go!
  • For Harry Potter fans! Alnwick Castle is a fantastic day out for all the family. Learn about the history of Alnwick and enjoy the beautiful award-winning gardens created by The Duchess of Northumberland. Activities, concerts, and magical fun!
  • Barter Books is one of the biggest second-hand bookstores in the country. Great for rainy days. Preserved beautifully, it is located in the old Alnwick Train Station. Sit, read, and relax with a cuppa in restored waiting rooms with open fires. Dogs welcome.
  • Holy Island and the Farne Islands are a great day out. Spot seals and puffins as you travel by boat. Visit the home of Grace Darling, Longstone Light House and find out how her amazing courage inspired the first lifeboats to patrol our shores.
  • Alnmouth Beach is the start of amazing castle walks and the beach itself is stunning and the local’s favourite. The Village has amazing coffee shops and dog friendly pubs. Visit the School House Gallery for famous local artwork and cultural events.
  • The Star Inn in Harbottle is loved by guests for its warm welcome and is at the heart of the community. You can dine in or pick up a takeaway on your way back to the cottage. It's dog friendly too so you can take them with you.
