Feada Coille - Self-catering cottage in Highland
4 Allt An Dubh
Kenmore Road, Shieldaig, IV54 8XS, Highland
Scotland,
Regno Unito
With uninterrupted views across ancient Caledonian forest, rolling hills, and shimmering lochs, this bright, spacious retreat has floor-to-ceiling windows serving up spectacular views of the Torridon Mountains, and a terrace that seems to float over the wooded slope – perfect for sipping a morning coffee or watching the starry night skies.
Inside, natural materials and soft furnishings give a chilled Scandi-Scot vibe. Two cosy, wood-panelled en-suite bedrooms – one with a bath, the other with a walk-in shower – offer quiet comfort. Living is open-plan with a big comfy sofa and a well-equipped kitchen for convivial cooking. There’s a library of nature books, as well as local maps and walking guides, hot water bottles, and wood burners inside and out.
No TV, but decent internet if you have to keep in touch. Though why would you? Remote and peaceful, this is a sanctuary for rest, renewal, and connecting with the wild within. This place is one of our Sawday’s Community Champions – not-for-profit organisations receiving subsidised Sawday’s membership as recognition for their support of causes and communities.
