Tregoyd Estate - Pen-y-Cwm - Self-catering cottage in Powys
Maes-y-Garn Farm, Hay-on-Wye, HR3 5QE, Powys
Wales,
Regno Unito
Rough-painted stone walls and oak beams give a delightfully rustic feel, while interesting furniture, a roaring fire and an abundance of good art make you feel happy to be indoors whatever the weather is playing at. You'll find games, books and a TV with all the channels, but mostly you'll want to be outdoors, taking in huge gulps of fresh air, walking in the grandeur of nature.
The gorgeous old table in the kitchen is a grand spot for cooking together happily and then gazing through the picture window at the mountains. You're left the basics for cooking and milk, eggs, apple juice etc. so you needn't bring the lot. When you need to stock up, Hay-on-Wye is a short drive.
You should sleep peacefully to the sound of the brook and the sheep – bedrooms have views. Tackle Hay Bluff then return to a wood-fired hot tub, a fire pit and a barbecue for long summer evenings, or a snuggle by the fireside. Either way it's lovely here.
