An unbelievably stunning setting for this renovated 15th-century villa with garden on a hillside overlooking the famed Florence skyline

Your villa sits among olive groves and formal gardens just a stone's throw from the city. It's typically Tuscan with wooden shutters, large window and a turret above the third floor. Inside has plenty of room with many stairs, corridors and landings, perfect for hiding, a large dining room and a comfortable sitting room with sofas and fireplace.

Bedrooms, all but one with stunning views – the turret room has the best – are roomy and elegant with well turned-out beds, high ceilings and gleaming bathrooms. Outdoors a lawn curves around three sides of the house and an arched patio is lovely for outdoor eating. The pool is shared with next door Villa Fontallerta.

Cooks will be happy in the ultra-modern kitchen with a huge fridge and plenty of space for prepping and joining in, but you can visit a well-stocked wine cellar and eat in the family restaurant below you – Restaurant Le Lune, specialising in dishes with homegrown veg and meat from their farm.

Local points of interest from Guido Rasponi Manfredi:

Punti d'interesse locali da
Guido Rasponi Manfredi:

  • Le Lune restaurant is inside a beautiful greenhouse. It's managed by Barbialla and Fontallerta farms and it is a meeting point for their agricultural, nursery and environmental activities.
  • Opera del Duomo Museum is a spectacular setting capable of enhancing unique masterpieces in the world that are presented in an adequate and faithful way according to the sense for which they were created. A concentration of faith, art and history that has no equal in the world.
  • Fiesole, a small burg that rises up on a hill near Florence, offering a wonderful view of the city.
  • Gelateria Badiani was opened in 1932 by Idilio Badiani and their most known gelato flavour is called Buontalenti, like the famous Italian architect.
  • Alcedo pasticceria in Fiesole is worth a visit with amazing Italian pastries.
  • Boboli gardens - Directly behind Pitti Palace are the marvellous Boboli Gardens. The Medici family established the layout of the gardens, creating the Italian garden style that would become a model for many European courts.
