The Fell Hotel - Hotel in Yorkshire
Burnsall, BD23 6BT, Yorkshire
England,
Regno Unito
You're high on the hill with huge views of Wharfedale: mountains rise, the river roars and in summer you can watch the cricket team toil on the pitch below. Sink into a soft sofa in the sitting room by a warming wood-burner, order a drink from the bar, play board games or read.
There's a sense of space, with one room flowing into another, the bar, restaurant and conservatory united by an open-plan feel. In the bedrooms (all different) find Nespresso machines, homemade ginger biscuits and en suite bathrooms with robes, Fikkerts soaps and lotions and fluffy towels. A 20-minute drive will take you to the spa at their sister hotel – you have free entry during your stay.
Back downstairs, delicious food is cooked by chef George Marsh – British classics (fish pie is a favourite) from local ingredients – R & J in Ripon supply meat, and lamb is from Eshton Herdwicks. The wine list is thoughtful and you can drink local ales from Masham Brewery.
