Other houses dot the hillside but you feel completely private tucked behind electric gates. Leading straight out from the house, the huge terrace has a dining table for 10 beneath a sunshade with a top-notch outdoor kitchen for plancha-style barbecues. Leafy palms act as a living screen for a shimmering pool and loungers, beside here is the aperitif spot next to a millstone, and beneath the terrace there's a naturally wild tree-filled area to make the most of sunshine days.
Two living spaces, one with a sea-view balcony, one with a marble fireplace, and five dreamy bedrooms (two connect and will be brilliant for families, all have air con) have a lovely mix of original art and delicate antiques.
Dress up for special meals in the fabulous dining room under a Murano glass chandelier surrounded by family portraits, otherwise drive or walk 20 minutes into Golfe-Juan for local restaurants. The sea and Vallauris are a little further.
